BRACES PROCEDURE

It’s normal to feel a little nervous about getting your braces put on but it’s actually pain-free and the first step in reaching your smile goals. We’ll be your partners in the process and make sure you feel comfortable and confident throughout your entire treatment.

1. YOUR RECORDS APPOINTMENT

This is where you come in for your first consultation with Dr. Proano Wise. We will take photos, digital x-rays and a digital scan of your teeth taken to asses your dental condition.

2. PUT YOUR BRACES ON

Your treatment is officially underway. Brackets, arch wire and rubber bands will be fitted to your teeth. The painless process takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 ½ hours.

3. ADJUSTMENTS

Dr. Proano Wise will adjust your braces every six to eight weeks as your new smile begins to take shape. This is a good time to address any concerns or questions that may pop up during treatment.

4. YOUR LAST ADJUSTMENT

The moment you’ve been waiting for: The day you bid your braces farewell! Your brackets, bonds, arch wire and rubber bands will be removed to reveal perfectly straight teeth.

5. WEARING YOUR RETAINER

A retainer ensures your teeth remember their new positions. Dr. Proano Wise will have your retainer fitted to your new bite and adjust your retainer periodically to ensure good maintenance.
